Precious Moments

My favorite thing lately is that Maddie is really catching on to saying her prayers. She folds her arms and mutters little sweet nothings while you pray. She does get a little impatient sometimes and yells "amen" before you are done praying. Today I wasn't very reverent because while Dave was praying, she was saying,"Hi Momma, Hi Dadda" and I couldn't stop laughing. She gets this look on her face where she knows that she is making you laugh and it makes me giggle even more. I love these little moments. I absolutely love being a mom, it's the coolest thing in the world.

Love you, Dave!

I saw this on my friend Shauna's site. I think it's such a good idea to pay tribute to the man in your life! I am so grateful to have such a good husband and father to my little girl. She absolutely adores him and so do I. So, here's a little info. about my hubby!

What is his name? David Boyd Archer

How long have we been married? 4 years in October! Wow!!

How long did we date? Don't laugh, 2 months! Engaged: 2 months!

Who said I love you first? ?? He did, but I was just waiting for him to say it so that I could.... I'm such a chicken, I know!

Who is taller? He is, by quite a ways! Good thing, so I can still wear my heels!

Who sings better? It's a toss up. I always thought I was a good singer, but he does a killer plant voice! (He was the voice of the man eating plant for Little Shop of Horrors)

Who is smarter? He is definitely smarter, and Maddie is just like him which explains why I have a genius child who already counts to 10! He is one of those ridiculously smart people who doesn't study and still gets A's. Even in college... yeah you can be jealous too if you want.

Who pays the bills? We split them equally. He is smarter at figuring out the math to see who needs to pay what though... again with the smarter thing!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? The right, like the best side or the literal right side? See Dave could have figured out which one that it meant....I sleep on the right side if it is literal.... :)

Who mows the lawn? He does. I did it probably twice. I do edge and trim on rare occasions....

Who cooks dinner? I do, but he does cook one mean steak! He is the best barbequer I have ever met! That's how he roped me in!

Who drives? We split, but most of the time I play the girl card and make him do it!

Who's more stubborn? Hmmm....you know what? I think it's both of us. We are so awful that way!

Who kissed who first? He leaned in to me, but I definitely took part, if you know what I mean (wink wink, nudge nudge)!

Who asked who out? I asked him out, but he didn't realize it at the time. So, the second one he did!

Who proposed? He did. It was so cute. We went on a fun walk and then up to a view of the Provo temple. He had my ring in a box with a light in it, so I could see at night! How thoughtful!

Who has more siblings? He does, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters, but not by much! I have 4 brothers.

Who wears the pants in the family? We don't wear pants at our house. :) Just teasin'! It's equal!

BAMA!

Posted by Picasa

In the picture at the top, Maddie was yelling at Bama to come upstairs. She didn't like that Grandma went down there without her. Also, she fell and bonked her cheek and she only wanted her Bama to hold here. She had a little bit of a Bama obsession this weekend!

Wake up!

This is Maddie waking up after she was playing like she was asleep!

"Night Night!" Maddie thought she was so funny on Grandma Archer's couch. She'd lay down and say, "night night" then she'd pull up the blanket and start fake snoring. Silly girl.

Poor Momma

So, I'm a huge dork! I'm sure a lot of you know that already, but here is my ankle pictures after I tripped on the ice and sprained it! I went to pick up Maddie at the babysitter's on Friday because she was sick. I went walking down the babysitter's steps and there was ice on the second to last step. I slipped, but since I was holding Maddie, I tried to turn and twisted my ankle. I heard this really horrible popping sound and I was laying on my back the next second! I had Maddie laying on top of me saying, "Okay Momma?", so cute that she was worried! I just sat there for a second and the babysitter came and grabbed Maddie from me. I stood up and went to the car. I played tough in front of the babysitter, but then I got in the car and started bawling! The whole ride home Maddie kept saying "Okay Momma? Okay?". It was so cute how worried she was. She was asking me every 2 minutes.... what a good girl. Anyway, luckily I had today off to relax. Also, I took my sister-in-law Heather and her fiance Nate's engagement pictures this weekend. The pictures are on my photography blog in case you want to see them!

YAY! Flowers!

Dave got me some really pretty flowers for Valentine's Day. Sorry this picture is so crappy, I took it on my phone and e-mailed it to myself. But, the point is that you can see the really beautiful flowers.

Photography Blog

I just updated my photography blog today with pictures from Bear River's production of Little Shop. I did their cast photos and it was a lot of fun. You can get there by clicking on my link on the lower right side! Enjoy!

Poor Dadda

Dave had to go and have a little surgery last week. He had to have his two ingrown toenails out. As Maddie would say, "Eww Cucka!" He didn't complain...much! :) Just teasing, he was very brave and very sore! What a tough Dadda!

MOM GAVE ME A HAIRCUT??!

That's the look on her face, but I thought it looked good! We brought up the sides to match the length of the back, cut her bangs a little shorter and layered the back. I don't know if you can tell, but I was really quite happy with it. Probably because she actually sat still!

Where's Maddie?!

I love this peek-a-boo phase! :) So fun!

Jughead

So here's another funny thing that Maddie does ALL the time. Dave showed her that she could put things on her head, he would put it on his head and then when it fell off, he'd let out a big dramatic laugh. Well, now EVERYTHING goes on her head. Pots, bowls, cups, toys, and her basket that holds her bath toys (this one). In case you didn't know, it's hilarious to do this. If you want a good laugh, just stick something up on your head and laugh your butt off when it falls off... really.... entertaining for hours, just in case you didn't know.

The obsession grows stronger!

She really is a very girly girl. She makes me laugh. She has to go and get me some shoes when my bare feet are hanging off the couch. She is so concerned by it, she yells," Uh oh! Shoes! Where did they go?!" Then she runs to one of her favorite play spots, not her room, but into MY shoe closet! She comes back out with two mismatch shoes and puts them on my feet. After the first pair are not satisfactory (a blue sneaker and a black mary jane don't match), she goes back into my room and finds one of my work shoes (pictured here). Then she says, "There you go" and walks off. Well, how silly of me not to keep shoes on, right?! Such a funny girl.

A Day for Play!

Maddie was a little upset when the kids left her to go and play. But, Grandma Madson was there to ease the pain!

She really is happy, I promise!

Uncle Kaden

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we went to the Logan Fun Center. We had a lot of fun! Maddie went on the really big soft play with Kaden and Tyson. My mom, Jamie, Taylor, McKayden, and Kenzie Kent were there to play along with Natalie, Jaden, and Marissa Holmgren. We had a blast and Marissa and Maddie became fast friends that day! We went and played Laser Tag and a couple of arcade games and earlier went to Olive Garden. I was joking with Kenzie before telling her that Dave doesn't let me go to Olive Garden because he doesn't like Italian food. She was so worried about it, that it had to be the restaurant of choice! We had a lot of fun! It was a great girl getaway with the kids!

Rarr!!

Maddie is not scared of the plant from the play at all!

Audrey II

So, here's an update for you, Kristen! This is all our family has done lately! We have been at the high school every night this last couple of weeks. I have been doing choreography for the high school for their play, Little Shop of Horrors, and Dave actually is the voice of the plant! He is hilarious as the plant and does a great job! Maddie gets a little confused about why the scary "rarr" has Daddy's voice, but it's alright. She tries to give it kisses and isn't scared of it, so I guess it having Daddy's voice is good! I love to watch him do it, I'm going to try to figure out how to put a video of him doing it on here one day, so watch for that! :)
